CoolSculpting Free Treatment; Skin Care Special “Smart” TCA Peels

Mused after eating at Enoteca Emilia in Loveland. Located near the bike trail, it serves excellent Italian food. Reasonably priced with plenty of inexpensive wines. In fact, you can buy a bottle to go at half price. It has outdoor seating to enjoy as the weather warms.

Herpes Zoster or more commonly known as shingles, is a reactivation of the chickenpox virus. It usually affects older adults or those with a weak immune system.

The early signs of shingles are burning, pain and tingling in the area affected. This can last one to five days. It then evolves into a painful skin rash, often with blisters. This lasts roughly two to four weeks. In about a quarter of cases it will affect the eye and in a small number can lead to vision loss. The most common sites are the face and abdomen.

(Did You Know?  One in three adults will get shingles in their lifetime.)

The Centers for Disease Control recommends that all healthy adults over the age of 50 get the shingles vaccine. This can help not only prevent shingles but lessen the chances of getting postherpetic neuralgia, a chronic pain after having the shingles.

Shingrix is the preferred vaccination given in two doses roughly 2-6 months apart. It is made from a nonliving component of the virus. It has been shown to give some immunity for over 5 years. Even if the vaccination does not prevent a case of shingles it does reduce the severity and chance of postherpetic neuralgia.

    Egg Salad from Eatingwell.com

Combine 6 hard-boiled eggs peeled with ¼ cup mayonnaise, 2 Tbls chopped capers, 2 Tbls chopped dill, 1 Tbls lemon juice, 1 Tbls whole grain mustard, and 2 tsp hot sauce. Add ½ cup chopped yellow bell pepper, ½ cup chopped celery and ¼ cup chopped red onion. Consider adding this to toasted whole wheat bread with slices of avocado.

There are a number of other services either I or my staff provide that have little or no downtime. Our Micropeels, or lunchtime peels, are probably the best known as we have hundreds of patients (yes women AND MEN) who come in regularly for this. The exfoliation and mild peel not only improves the appearance of the skin on your face but allows our prescription strength products to be more effective.

Cellfina, www.cellfina.com, is the only FDA-cleared minimally invasive procedure clinically proven to improve the appearance of cellulite for at least three years. The best candidate has dimpling that is not caused by loose skin. The benefits are a long-lasting, single, in-office treatment that usually takes under an hour. No general anesthesia is needed and downtime is limited in most cases to the day of treatment. 96% of patients were satisfied after two years.

    Permanent Makeup?

Microblading is a technique of applying permanent makeup to your eyebrows with individual strokes simulating individual hairs. We also do permanent eyeliner and lips.

Neck Bands or Hypersweating under Arms?

Botox can help with both. Come in for a free consult.

Weak Chin, Nasal Imperfections, Aging or Thin Earlobes?

Juvederm plumps chins and earlobes and sometimes nasal imperfections.

Facial, Neck, Chest, or Hand Wrinkles? Brown Spots?

Collagen Induction Therapy or microneedling reduces pigmentation and improves wrinkles with virtually no down time. Multiple treatments are needed but can be done within an hour. Call for our packages.

    Leg Veins?

Sclerotherapy improves spider veins in your legs.

Do you have unsightly brown spots on your face, hands or body?

SkinCeuticals (many of you use their skincare products) has developed a “pen” that uses cryotherapy or freezes age and sun spots as well as skin tags. It uses carbon dioxide which freezes the superficial part of the skin at -79 degrees C. The technique is similar to when family physicians and dermatologists use liquid nitrogen to treat skin cancers.

The procedure takes just a few minutes. The area is cleansed then sprayed with CO2 to freeze the spot. There is very little if any temporary discomfort. Immediately after, Vitamin C is applied and so can makeup. Vitamin C and a sunscreen are encouraged and should be applied while healing.

The lesion will get darker and possibly scab before it sheds. It can take 7-21 days to shed completely. Healthy pink skin or lightening of the dark spot will appear. Maturation of the skin then follows the normal skin cycle of 6 weeks.

Special: “Smart” TCA peel package $450 for three peels and receive a free SkinCeuticals cleanser or sunscreen. Call for details.

Mask Breakout? Our skin care specialists can help. Schedule a facial analysis and micropeel for $98. Medical and prescription skin care products do work!

WE ARE THE ONLY OFFICE with a DOSE machine in Cincinnati. It mixes a unique formulation of SkinCeutical ingredients that are professionally diagnosed to address the specific needs of your skin. The specific product comes after you answer a questionnaire about your skin, goals and needs. Each bottle is $195 and lasts roughly 3 months.
