To accommodate you as safely as possible we will continue to offer Botox at $13/unit ($195 per syringe) and Fillers 10% off our normal rate. Dr. McKenna does the injections himself! So you get 30 years’ experience and over 50,000 syringes of Botox injected.

**Two other important factors: We do our surgeries HERE at our accredited surgery center and not at a hospital and patients who have had prior surgeries with us get a discount.

Nuts are a source of unsaturated fats, fiber and protein. They also have vitamin E and magnesium. Perhaps the most important quality of nuts is the ability to be a substitute for unhealthy snack choices.

There are a number of health benefits. People who eat nuts regularly tend to have lower “bad” cholesterol than those who don’t eat them. Also, nut-eaters are less likely to be diagnosed with diabetes. This is part of the Mediterranean diet. Being dense in calories, nuts pass directly through the gut and are not absorbed. They also tend to be more filling.

(Did You Know? Most nuts are tree nuts but peanuts are legumes. Walnuts, almonds and pecans are “drupes” consisting of a fleshy fruit on the outside and a hard-shelled pit enclosing a soft nut or seed.)

For most people, 1-2 one-ounce servings of nuts per day is a reasonable goal. They can be eaten as a snack between meals or added to cereal (I do this) or yogurt as well as other foods.

Tonight, tomorrow night and Wednesday night on PBS there is a series about Ernest Hemingway. It is put together by Ken Burns who has done a number of mini-series including The Civil War, Baseball, The West and Jazz. He usually has a depth and insight on these subjects that makes them both entertaining and educational.

“I am grateful for your care and kindness during my journey to healing and grace. Blessings and love to all.” L.

There are a number of other services either I or my staff provide that have little or no downtime. Our Micropeels, or lunchtime peels, are probably the best known as we have hundreds of patients (yes women AND MEN) who come in regularly for this. The exfoliation and mild peel not only improves the appearance of the skin on your face but allows our prescription strength products to be more effective.

Cellfina, www.cellfina.com, is the only FDA-cleared minimally invasive procedure clinically proven to improve the appearance of cellulite for at least three years. The best candidate has dimpling that is not caused by loose skin. The benefits are a long-lasting, single, in-office treatment that usually takes under an hour. No general anesthesia is needed and downtime is limited in most cases to the day of treatment. 96% of patients were satisfied after two years.

    Permanent Makeup?

Microblading is a technique of applying permanent makeup to your eyebrows with individual strokes simulating individual hairs. We also do permanent eyeliner and lips.

Neck Bands or Hypersweating under Arms?

Botox can help with both. Come in for a free consult.

Weak Chin, Nasal Imperfections, Aging or Thin Earlobes?

Juvederm plumps chins and earlobes and sometimes nasal imperfections.

Facial, Neck, Chest, or Hand Wrinkles? Brown Spots?

Collagen Induction Therapy or microneedling reduces pigmentation and improves wrinkles with virtually no down time. Multiple treatments are needed but can be done within an hour. Call for our packages.

    Leg Veins?

Sclerotherapy improves spider veins in your legs.

Do you have unsightly brown spots on your face, hands or body?

SkinCeuticals (many of you use their skincare products) has developed a “pen” that uses cryotherapy or freezes age and sun spots as well as skin tags. It uses carbon dioxide which freezes the superficial part of the skin at -79 degrees C. The technique is similar to when family physicians and dermatologists use liquid nitrogen to treat skin cancers.

The procedure takes just a few minutes. The area is cleansed then sprayed with CO2 to freeze the spot. There is very little if any temporary discomfort. Immediately after, Vitamin C is applied and so can makeup. Vitamin C and a sunscreen are encouraged and should be applied while healing.

The lesion will get darker and possibly scab before it sheds. It can take 7-21 days to shed completely. Healthy pink skin or lightening of the dark spot will appear. Maturation of the skin then follows the normal skin cycle of 6 weeks.

Special: ALL Sunscreens are 15% off! Take advantage of this during this nice stretch of weather.

Mask Breakout? Our skin care specialists can help. Schedule a facial analysis and micropeel for $98. Medical and prescription skin care products do work!

WE ARE THE ONLY OFFICE with a DOSE machine in Cincinnati. It mixes a unique formulation of SkinCeutical ingredients that are professionally diagnosed to address the specific needs of your skin. The specific product comes after you answer a questionnaire about your skin, goals and needs. Each bottle is $195 and lasts roughly 3 months.
