Botox Day is Tuesday, October 15th BUT WE WILL BE HAVING SOME HOURS EVERY DAY THIS WEEK!!! We will have discounts on Botox and fillers such as Juvederm. Botox is $13/unit or $195/syringe (normally $16/unit and $240/syringe). Fillers are also 10% off. Juvederm is the most common filler for “raising” facial wrinkles. Voluma is an injectable filler that augments and lifts the cheeks and Volbella and Vollure subtly augment the lips and improve perioral wrinkles.
Jeuveau/Newtox is the latest in injectable treatments. It works in a similar fashion as Botox but with a “surprising onset and promising duration”. For a limited time we will be offering this at $10/unit or $150 for our typical syringe of 15 units.
Mused after spending the weekend outside with the beautiful fall weather. Old man winter cannot be too far behind. Let’s hope it’s mild this year.
Laser hair removal package of 6 is now 10% off! Our “cool tip” minimizes discomfort. Take advantage of permanent hair reduction treatments and be ready for next spring. Above the waist the treatments are every 4-6 weeks and below 8-12 weeks. Little discomfort and quick treatments by a qualified nurse. Now through the end of October. Call for details 513-793-5772.
Plant Oils
Shifting from saturated fats (think not only animal fats but also palm and coconut fats) to unsaturated fats (poly or mono) improves LDL-cholesterol which is the type that leads to heart disease. Plant oils are extracted from fats found in fruits (olives, coconuts), seeds (canola, safflower, and sesame), nuts and legumes (peanuts).
Palm and coconut oils have a high component of saturated fats which are known to raise LDL or “bad” cholesterol. Coconut oil also increases HDL or “good” cholesterol.
(Did You Know? If you prefer minimally processed oils, look for raw, cold-pressed, virgin, extra virgin or pure on the label.)
Common Plant Oils:
Avocado high heat cooking nutty flavor
Canola high heat cooking neutral flavor
Coconut no high heat cooking nutty
Corn high heat cooking neutral flavor
Olive, virgin no high heat cooking strong flavor
Peanut high heat cooking nutty (of course) flavor
Safflower high heat cooking neutral
Vegetable high heat cooking neutral
Use plant oils to replace butter, lard or starches in your diet. Use tropical oils (coconut, palm) with caution. Store oils in cool, dry place and use within one year. Cook with oils that can tolerate heat, seeing smoke means unwanted free radicals may be forming.
