Mused after after learning that the Hallmark Channel is doing their annual “Christmas in July” programing. While the stories are always uplifting, the snow settings make some of the summer heat more tolerable.
TRIHEALTH SCREENINGS
TriHealth has a suggested list of health screenings for women over 40 and those over 50.
Women over 40:
Annual BP check, breast and pelvic exam
Annual mammogram
Cervical cancer screening and cytology, Pap smear, HPV testing
Diabetes testing at age 45
Cholesterol levels at age 45
Immunizations: TDAP every 10 years and yearly flu vaccine
(Did You Know? While these are guidelines, check with your physician for their recommendations. Those with a history of skin cancer should see their dermatologist at least yearly.)
Women over 50:
Colorectal cancer screening
Bone mineral density screening (DEXA scan) at 65
Thyroid screening at 65
Urinalysis at 65
Immunizations Herpes Zoster at 60, Pneumococcal at 65
