Botox Day is tomorrow Tuesday, February 19 with discounts on Botox and fillers such as Juvederm. Botox is $13/unit or $195/syringe (normally $16/unit and $240/syringe). Frozen Foods
Frozen foods may be “fresher” than non-frozen since often they are flash frozen at the peak of freshness. An example is that fresh fish at the counter is mostly fish that was frozen and was defrosted at the store prior to being put in the fish case.
Belief in fresh frozen foods can be translated into creating meals and then freezing them in addition to just freezing leftovers. For those of us that work all day, taking a meal out of the freezer when getting home from work makes the evening meal easier. There are many books and recipes that incorporate freezing once the meal is made.
(Did You Know? I recently purchased a vacuum sealer to better keep leftovers in the freezer. It’s easier than I thought. Things to look for are how wide the seal is, wider is better, and purchase thick bags or rolls to keep your foods in.)
Steaks and burgers can be cooked while frozen. Heat the oven to 200 degrees and heat a cast iron or oven proof pan to very hot. Sear the frozen meat until nicely burnished on both sides. Put pan in oven and cook until the internal temp is cooked the way you like it done using a thermometer.
