Chicken with Grapes, Rosemary, Garlic, Mushrooms and (surprise) a Leek

 

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.  Start by sautéing a whole chicken cut up in 8 pieces, 4 chicken breasts cut in half or 8 chicken thighs to brown both sides, about 10 minutes in an oven proof pan.  Remove chicken, add more oil and sauté 1 large head of garlic cloves that have been peeled, 8 oz. of mushrooms, one thinly sliced leek and about 2 cups of grapes that have been cut into small bunches.  Salt and pepper.  Stir up any browning bits and cook for about 5 minutes.  Return chicken to pan and place in oven for about 20 minutes.  Rest and salt and pepper as needed.
