Brain Boosters: Diet, Exercise and Alzheimer’s CoolSculpting Special This Week Only!!! $999 see below Botox Day/Week Next Week, November 19
Mused after remembering that today is not only Veteran’s Day but also the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Forty years ago I studied in Berlin and got a chance to experience the divided city. Here’s a salute to our veterans.
Botox Day is Tuesday, November 19th BUT WE WILL BE HAVING SOME HOURS EVERY DAY NEXT WEEK!!! We will have discounts on Botox and fillers such as Juvederm. Botox is $13/unit or $195/syringe (normally $16/unit and $240/syringe). Fillers are also 10% off. Juvederm is the most common filler for “raising” facial wrinkles. Voluma is an injectable filler that augments and lifts the cheeks and Volbella and Vollure subtly augment the lips and improve perioral wrinkles.
Linking Diet, Exercise and Alzheimer’s
A couple of weeks ago I wrote about how to be a friend to someone strugglings with dementia. While still controversial, many believe that exercising and eating the right diet can improve or delay the effects of Alzheimer’s. Or maybe they will just improve your cognition.
Eat a half-cup of blueberries and strawberries two-three times a week.
Eat two-three servings each week of wild fish high in Omega-3 fatty acids.
Add powdered cocoa flavonols to coffee, smoothies, or skim milk.
Have one tablespoon of extra-virgin olive oil daily.
Cut back on sugar and carbohydrates. Look for whole grains and foods with high fiber.
(Did You Know? One suggestion below that I will get back to is playing chess. Bet you didn’t know that I used to win tournaments ;).)
Exercise at least three times a week with a mix of aerobic and weight training.
Practice good sleep hygiene by sleeping at least 7.5 hours a day.
Play a musical instrument.
Learn something new such as a foreign language or chess!
