Botox Day is Tuesday February 17 with discounts on Botox and fillers such as Juvederm. Botox is $13/unit or $195/syringe (normally $16/unit and $240/syringe) and fillers are 10% off. Voluma is an injectable filler that augments and lifts the cheeks. Buy a syringe for each side and get $150 off PLUS a free $240 syringe of Botox. Add a syringe of Juvederm and save an additional $100. (Good as long as we have rebates.)
The National Runner’s Health Study has a total of 113,472 runners. Not many studies have this number of participants. Begun in 1991, it has been funded by the National Institutes of Health and overseen by the Department of Energy. As little as 75 minutes of vigorous exercising each week gives a 40% lower risk of heart disease and developing high blood pressure.
(Did You Know? Paul Williams, Ph.D. has run this study from the beginning and believes that running 20-25 miles/week yields the most important health benefits.)
Ironically runners have lower rates of osteoarthritis and hip replacements probably because of a lower body mass index. Interestingly, runners have a 35% lower risk of developing cataracts and a higher reduction in macular degeneration. There are other positive effects on the risk of stroke, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, and several kinds of cancer.
