  • Botox Day Tomorrow March 17, Lifestyle and Facelifts

Botox Day is Tuesday March 17 with discounts on Botox and fillers such as Juvederm.  Botox is $13/unit or $195/syringe (normally $16/unit and $240/syringe) and fillers are 10% off.  Voluma is an injectable filler that augments and lifts the cheeks.  Buy a syringe for each side and get $150 off PLUS a free $240 syringe of Botox.  Add a syringe of Juvederm and save an additional $100.  (Good as long as we have rebates.)

Over the past 14 years Lifestyle Lifts have become popular due to the advertising the company that trademarked the term “Lifestyle Lift”.  The technique is familiar to almost every plastic surgeon and shunned by many.  The company has recently filed for bankruptcy and will be closing.  The question is who is responsible for the care of any patients who underwent a “Lifestyle Lift”?

(Did You Know?  Personally, I use a two layer approach to a facelift which is advocated by many nationally recognized plastic surgeons.  This separates the tissues sagging from the skin.  The tissues are tightened separate from the skin so the skin doesn’t do all the work.  Therefore the skin doesn’t get over-pulled and look less natural.  Studies show it lasts longer.)

Facelift goals are to make our patients look refreshed and at times naturally younger.  A facelift augments the cheekbones, improves the sagging jowls, helps to define the jawline, and tightens the neck.  Recuperation for most is between 10-14 days.  An eyelidplasty is most frequently done in conjunction with the facelift.  Results usually last over ten years.
