What’s the optimal length of eyelashes?  Or, should I use Latisse to lengthen and thicken my eyelashes?  A recent study by David Hu at the Georgia Institute of Technology measured the eyelash to width of the eye ratios on 22 mammals.  He found that the optimal length is that the lashes should be a third the width of the eye.

What is the function of eyelashes and why is length important?  Performing an experiment using fake eyelashes, Hu found that eyelashes prevent evaporation of the lubricating film on the eye.  Eyelashes create a “speed bump” that diverts airflow away from the surface of the eye.

(Did You Know?  Latisse is applied to the eyelashes to prolong their growth period.  This causes longer, thicker and darker eyelashes.)

Hu goes on to say that denser eyelashes provide better eye protection.  In fact, camels have two rows of lashes.  So consider the advantages of Latisse to look better AND to protect your eyes.

Latisse is $98 for 3 ml and $159 for 5ml.

For first timers, buy a 5 ml bottle and get a 3 ml FREE (until March 15 or we run out of coupons.)
