Mused after attending The Memorial golf tournament in Columbus. One of the few sport venues that you can stand next to the athlete. Still a game where the fans respect both the players and the play remaining silent when a golfer is hitting.

Twenty-one percent of American adults manage to get enough exercise regularly. These are some common traits and studies prove it.

    1. Exercise at the same time most days. Sticking with the same time takes the thought energy of deciding when to exercise out of the equation.
    2. More people are increasing their definition of exercise. In addition to classes, running, weights, others add family bike rides, climbing stairs and I add parking far away from the store’s door to burn a few extra calories.
    3. Streamline your pre-exercise routine. Have your clothes ready. Know what exercise you will be doing the next day. The more you are focused in the less chance you will have of talking yourself out of it.

    4. Be more flexible about how long or intense to exercise. Face it, some days you just don’t have it. But any exercise is better than none. So one day skip the 6 miles run and jog two miles on the treadmill watching television.
    5. Lastly, those who exercise regularly do it more for pleasure than any other reason. So pick an activity that most of the time you will enjoy whether it be dancing or running marathons. As Nike states “Just Do It!”
