• Super Bowl This Sunday at 6:30; San Francisco 49ers v. Kansas City Chiefs in Las Vegas Ways to Save Calories While Enjoying Eats on Super Bowl Sunday Breast Augmentation Special with Free Juvederm filler or Botox! Recipe for an Easy Super Bowl Meal: Taco Soup CoolSculpting Special, 4 Cycles (Treatments) for the Price of Three!!

Mused after… looking up calories, carbs and alcohol content on common “light” beers. Continuing with the theme of healthy Super Bowl intake, let’s check Bud Light, Guinness 0 (a new non-alcoholic beer with lots of flavor), Dogfish Head Light, and Modelo Especial (this has supplanted Bud Light as the most popular beer in America).
Bud Light: 110 calories, 6gm. Carbs and 4.2% alcohol
Guinness 0: 60 cal., 13.5 gms. and less than .05% alcohol
Dogfish Head Light: 95 cal, 3.5 gms., 4%
    Modelo Especial: 143 cal., 13.6 gms., 4.4%
So, you can see there are trade-offs between carbs and alcohol or both. To get flavor, they add carbs, for depth they add alcohol. Both add calories.

With parties and pregame activities, it’s easy to spend the day eating (and drinking) thousands of calories. Here are some tips to limit the damage.

Instead of making beef chili try white chicken chili or vegetarian chili. Limit the sour cream.

Instead of buying those delicious chicken wings from Kroger or restaurants, bake or air fry the wings. There are some great sauce recipes or purchase premade and dip them once cooked.

Instead of burgers, try sliders for portion control. Or better yet, instead of ground beef use portobellos, ground buffalo or game (most have less fat), turkey or again, a vegetarian substitute.

(Did You Know? The foodnetwork.com has recipes for traditional food such as hot wings, chili, and potato skins. Epicurious.com focuses on dips and salsas, sandwiches, chili, and desserts. Cookinglight.com does makeovers to lighten the caloric load in food from chili to brownie.)

Instead of chips (tortilla or potato) use baked tortillas chips for dipping. There are many “salsas” that can be made or bought beside traditional. Verde, pineapple, aguacate (salsa with avocado, my fav), criolla and taquera are all varieties.

Of course, there are other healthy appetizers such as spinach-artichoke dip, deviled eggs, shrimp cocktail, nuts, vegetable tray and many others.

Below is a recipe for Taco Soup!

Dessert: How could any event occur without dessert? With everything else so heavy a light dessert is favorable such as lemon bars, brownies, or even a fruit tray.

Enjoy the game, the pregame festivities, commercials, halftime, and don’t drink and drive.

Testimonial: All the nurses, Ashley & Diane et. al., were wonderful. Very caring and soothing. The NA, Erica, was also very calming and explained everything. Dr. McK was a perfect captain to the ship. Everything ran so smoothly from my perspective. All in all, a great experience even if it was a major surgery. Thanks to all. -N.H.

Taco Soup To make for Super Bowl
(This is easy because all the measurements are base on packages or cans, no measuring spoons or cups.)

In a large pot, brown 2 pounds of ground chuck and 2 chopped onions. Add 3 14.5-ounce cans of chopped tomatoes, 1 can yellow corn, 1 can hominy, 1 can pinto beans, 1 small can green chilies (all with their liquids), 1 package taco seasoning, 1 package Hidden Valley dry mix, and 16 ounces of beef stock. (Can use tomatoes with chilis, onions or jalapenos for variety.) Simmer for at least one hour, longer is better. Serve with sour cream, cheddar cheese, tortilla chips and/or guacamole.

Get 4 cycles for price of 3. Can be used on multiple body parts or focus on one area.
Does not have to be used in one sitting, as some patients may need two cycles then a repeat.
