Suggestions for easy yet meaningful and healthy Valentine’s dinner
Here are some ideas that can still be pulled together before tomorrow evening. For nonalcohol, seltzer with lime or lemon ice tea can be served. Some thoughts on affordable wine are: Myles and Moore pinot noir, Kendall Jackson Vintner’s Reserve merlot, Joel Gott sauvignon blanc, and of course, Mumm Napa Brut sparkling wine.
Shrimp cocktail works well as an appetizer for a special occasion.
Steak or salmon are easy to grill or pan fry. Sirloin or for a splurge, filet, have little fat and are healthier than most other steaks.
Salad compliments everything. The only rule is the more colorful the better. Use low fat dressing or olive oil and vinegar.
Sides are plentiful but asparagus, broccoli, and carrots are easy to roast.
