Are foods containing genetically modified ingredients safe to eat? Twenty scientists spent two years reviewing 900 research publications. They looked at all types of GMO crops but focused primarily on corn, soybeans, and cotton which account for almost all commercially produced GMO crops.
The review compared a number of diseases between North America (where GMOs are used) and Western Europe (where they are not). The committee looked at the incidence of cancer, obesity, diabetes, kidney disease, autism, food allergies, and celiac disease.

The committee found “no conclusive cause-and-effect evidence of environmental problems from the genetically engineered crops.” Many plant varieties have been conventionally bred to produce resistance, gene therapy accelerates the ability to produce the resistance.
