We are seeing more breast reductions as insurance companies are covering fewer. Breast lifts (mastopexy) and breast reductions are ways of elevating the breast tissue, nipple and areola complexes as well as providing a better shape with more projection. The difference is that breast reductions remove some of the breast tissue decreasing the size. Breast lifts may also benefit with a small implant to give superior fullness in smaller breasted women.

The biggest trade-off with these procedures is the scar. In general, there is a miss match between the amount of filler material (breast tissue) and skin envelope. To create a better proportion, excess skin is removed. In many cases the scar goes around the areola, down to the fold at the base of the breast and along the fold as far as necessary to achieve a smooth endpoint. It looks like an anchor.

    LA DOLCE VITA:

I ran the half marathon in the Flying Pig yesterday. It’s a culmination to running and exercise dedication. Also, it’s fun to be part of a group that shares common interests. While running can be a social event, I find the solitude fulfilling. So when I run these events, it’s exciting to be with 20,000 of my comrades for several hours.

    TESTIMONIAL OF THE WEEK:

“Thank you, thank you for a well informed,
    and positive experience!” Kathy
